Sound Journey and Ceremony

Sound Journey and Ceremony

Join us for an alchemical blend of instruments, songs, shamanic & energetic healing! Enjoy a truly unique, heart-opening experience with the vibrational harmonics of Crystal & Tibetan singing bowls, didgeridoos, gongs, handpans, native flutes, tuning forks, drums & sacred songs. Allow yourself to be rejuvenated, invigorated & inspired by the frequency of Love! Alyssa and Prasad are dedicated to bringing healing, love, compassion and well-being into the world. Their deepest prayer is to help people awaken, to remember their power and intrinsic ability to heal themselves. They have happily been working in collaboration for over 5 years.

What’s a Sound Journey? A Sound Journey is similar to a guided meditation. Participants often lay down & are not required “to do” anything; simply relax & receive the music. It provides an excellent therapy for stress related issues, depression, fatigue, anger & hostility, feelings of fear, separation and loneliness, along with many other conditions related to the lack of balance & harmony in the body. The resonating sounds of the sacred instruments induce theta brain waves which promote a spontaneous state of meditation and relaxation. Listeners often experience a sense of connectedness and peace as the sacred sound of the gong offers listeners access to parts of the mind that are usually closed, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and higher consciousness. Sound Healing is often used to rebalance, tone and bring harmony to the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies.

About Alyssa: Alyssa has been studying various forms of the healing arts for over 13 years, including crystal and sound healing, Reiki, shamanic techniques and Nature-based ceremony. She has been walking the medicine path with deep reverence, honor and curiosity, creating a rooted and powerful ancient spirit connection, and has worked with many incredible teachers. She was Reiki level 1 & 2 certified at 21 years old, and Crystal Healing certified in 2008. She is passionate about being of service to this beautiful Planet and in assisting others in aligning with love and finding inspiration to live their highest truth. She brings her gifts to this world as an intuitive healer and joy-bringer through song, dance, prayer, creating beauty and care-taking the Earth and waters.

About Prasad: Prasad is a talented multi-instrumentalist & student of sound healing. He is passionate about sharing music with the world, and his kind and nurturing heart and spirit shine brightly through his intricate sound creations. He was exposed to many forms of spirituality and energy healing at a very young age, but found his calling exploring the healing aspects of music 7yrs ago when he experienced a profound transformation through music and South American shamanism. He has acquired the most diverse collection of sound healing tools in Colorado on his journey, including gongs, crystal and Tibetan bowls, handpans, didgeridoos tuning forks & much more. The instruments have been his greatest teacher & he aspires to "get out of their way" when playing. In striving to learn as much as possible he has trained with Toby Christensen & studied sound healing extensively. Prasad leads The Boulder Drum Circle as well as playing various gigs & collaborating with his partner, Alyssa, as Sound Rise Alchemy.

THAW: TREmor for Health And Wholeness

An Introductory TRE® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises) Intensive Workshop

UNWIND

LET GO OF STRESS

RESET YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

RESTORE BALANCE

REDISCOVER FLOW

EXPERIENCE INNER SAFETY AND PEACE

THAW is a day-long introductory workshop providing a theoretical and experiential overview of the TRE® (Tension and Trauma Release Exercise) process. This workshop will give participants a firm foundation of the TREmor process and participants will learn the tools to begin developing their own TREmoring practice.

TRE® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises) is a revolutionary and innovative series of movements that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma symptoms. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

TRE® is based on the fundamental idea, backed by recent research, that stress, tension and trauma is both psychological and physical. TRE®’s reflexive muscle vibrations generally feel pleasant and soothing. Some have even reported the TREmoring process as a deeply spiritual experience.

After doing TRE®, people report:

*Feelings of peace and well-being

*Less worry & anxiety

*Reduces symptoms of trauma

*More energy & endurance

*Improved relationships

*Less workplace stress

*Better sleep

*Less relationship conflict

*Reduced muscle & back pain

*Increased flexibility

*Greater emotional resiliency

*Decreases symptoms of vicarious trauma

*Healing of old injuries

*Lessened anxiety surrounding serious illness

*Relief from chronic medical conditions

Note: This workshop is not a substitute for therapy or counseling and though it is experiential and discussion-based, it is not designed for verbally processing the specific details of traumatic material.

Content covered in the workshop:

- Nervous System 101: Basic physiology of the stress response

- An understanding of the nervous system and the vagus nerve

- The 6 F’s: The body’s natural protection and safety responses

- Containment & Discharge: An examination of recovery responses

- Interoception and Exteroception: The role of regulation

- Discover and learn the 7 TRE exercises to awaken the restorative neurogenic tremor mechanism

- Engage in Self-Induced Therapeutic Tremors (SITTs) as a regulation and release tool

-Discussion and experiential activities for deepening, integration and settling of the TREmoring process in the body

***WHO***

This workshop is open to the general public, including wellness practitioners and mental health providers. It is appropriate for those new to TREmoring and those already engaging in the TRE process who desire a deeper dive. Please note, as a precautionary measure children, pregnant people, and those recovering from recent injury should not participate. If you are uncertain if you are welcome, contact Anya Kearns at trecolorado@gmail.com

Note: Number of participants is limited.

***PLEASE BRING***

A yoga mat, a blanket, water bottle, journal, pen and wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in.

The She-Wolf Shimmy
Mar

7:00 PM19:00

The She-Wolf Shimmy

The She-Wolf Shimmy

The She-Wolf Shimmy is a monthly dance refuge for the woman, fem and nonbinary people of our community. This is a wild space, where we are free to dance fiercely, erotically, tenderly, playfully, take a nap, cry, or snuggle. It's a watering hole where we come together to share the nourishment of life.

At 1:00pm, we start connecting to each other and dropping into our bodies. The opening exercises are different each time, but often feature verbal sharing and nurturing touch. Starting at 1:30pm, we free-dance through slow and fast songs, erotic and fierce songs, sad and sweet songs. Each playlist is designed to bring us through a journey. Anyone can dance topless. During the dance you are also invited to enjoy a relaxing lounge space, talk or cuddle with fellow she-wolves, go outside, read tarot cards, or make art. At the end of the dance, we have an additional 30 minutes to share, connect, and snack together. The She-Wolves often report that this is their favorite part.

WHO: This gender-intentional ecstatic dance welcomes people who identify as women, femme, nonbinary, genderfluid, etc. Trans women are heartily welcome. Children and minors accompanied by participants are also invited. The dance is NOT open to people who primarily identify as men or mostly masculine. We believe the benefits of this gathering will ripple through the whole community, so we ask our men-friends to bless us from afar. If you are uncertain if you're welcome, contact Lauren Pass Erickson via Facebook message or Amy Van Sweden at amy.hiraethholos@gmail.com.

PLEASE BRING: A water bottle, and food to share for after the dance.

COST: $5-25 sliding scale. We want this to be affordable to everyone.

I HEARD WOMEN CAN DANCE TOPLESS?
Yes, by popular request! Just not outside the dance studio.

KIDS:
We have had kids and sometimes babies at many of these dances. To keep the focus on the feminine alive, though, please no boys over the age of 5. Children and minors are invited to participate in the structure and exercises if they are old enough. We ask parents to communicate with their kids throughout the event, so that they are comfortable and respectful in the space.

YOUR FACILITATORS:

Lauren Pass Erickson is a dancer, artist, and teacher, currently pursuing her Masters in Somatic Counseling and Dance/Movement Therapy at Naropa University. She is also a certified facilitator of DANCEmandala, a free form movement mediation practice (more information at facebook.com/DANCEmandalaLauren). Lauren loves dancing, listening to wild or bizarre music, drawing, hiking, nesting, gardening, writing, reading Buddhist wisdom, rolling around on the floor, and sharing laughter. Her favorite part of the She-Wolf Shimmy is being able to immerse in an environment that is both spacious and intimate, without agenda or expectations, and full of whatever kind of nourishment is needed in the moment. She looks forward to fostering both silly playfulness and deep soulful dives in these gatherings.

Amy-la Lovely:
Hello beautiful beings, I’m A•LA Lovely (Amy Van Sweden) and I am honored to be co creating She Wolf Shimmy. This beautiful offering has gave me a place to be my sweet playful child self as well as embracing my primitive wild side. Dance is truly my medicine; it is where I die and become reborn again. Each movement in the dance I explore and reveal different parts of me as I dare to express openly and actively. I enjoy authentic movement, contact improv and trying new forms of expression. I especially love when dance evolves into cuddle puddles. When I am not dancing I’m co-creating with a non-profit called The Nowak Society, co-leading teen art therapy groups, attuning to sweet children, connecting with Earth Mother, admiring my beloved boa, diving deeper into shamanic and womb studies, conceiving empathic watercolor paintings, and cuddling.

“The Sacred Peruvian Whistling Vessels are possibly the oldest biofeedback device known to man. The Inca started producing ceramic whistling bottles in 500 B.C and continued for 2000 years, until shortly after the Spanish conquest of Peru in 1532. The original vessels are 500 or more years old. They were made on the north and central coasts and highlands of Peru.

In 1972 Daniel Statnekov, from the United States, had a chance encounter with a Pre-Columbian Peruvian whistling vessel at a country auction that had a life changing impact on him. Much of the research about the whistling vessels is a result of his work. Archaeologists thought that they were clay water bottles or a type of toy or novelty until Daniel Statnekov proved their true use.

The whistling vessels create a “beat frequency” which elevates consciousness and enhances body functions. When you blow a group of them tuned to similar frequencies, they create binaural beats. Binaural beats are used to balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain while creating a wonderful sense of well-being. “

We will have a set of eight vessels made from molds that Statnekov created and one ancient vessel that will be incorporated. We are limited participant capacity to 22; if you would like to be one of the eight who plays the vessels please arrive early and choose a spot in the circle with one of the vessels.

It is ideal for the player of a vessel to be attentive to the direction of their breath to enable their whistle to produce the best harmonics. The slow, directed breath allows the player to relax and helps them to journey with the sound. It is also necessary for the player to listen to the other players in the group, therefore becoming less conscious of ‘self’ and more aware of the group energy. Even if you are not playing, the sounds can still produce amazing effects and receivers have also had powerful experiences.

“Consider the sound of the hummingbird as it flies or hovers overhead; a low pulsating flutter, as if a large night butterfly – drawn to a light – beat its powdered wings against the glass. The hummingbird’s sound is unique in nature, but – interestingly – the Chimu knew how to reproduce it. Following a tradition that had existed for more than a thousand years, Chimu potters fashioned ingenious ceramic bottles that whistle when you blow into them, and when played in concert, create a sound that is most succinctly described as the low fluttering sound of a hummingbird in flight. ” Daniel Statnekov

A fixture in the underground bass music scene in the Bay Area, Trevor nurtured a fierce love for bass music and its intensely passionate followers. Inspired by the brilliant musicians that rose from the San Francisco underground, Trevor decided to further explore his passion and returned to school to study electronic music production. Hitting the scene hard under the new moniker “Orenda,” he began to put his imprint on the scene with a unique fusion of tribal world music, and powerful west coast bass. In a live show context, Orenda conveys a marriage of the two opposing ideas, resulting in mixes that are ethereal and alluring, as well as powerful and aggressive. Straying from the predictable, rise and fall cliches of the modern dancefloor, Orenda embarks on a musical journey that leaves an otherworldly impression.

Tone Ranger (AKA Alex Simon) makes dance and ambient music that reflects the supernatural beauty of the American Southwest. Uniting light and shadow, chaos and order, future and retro, he weaves daring electronic compositions designed for the dance floor.

Having spent the last two years living and working in Native nations across the Plains and the Southwest, Alex is inspired primarily by the American landscape and the stories that come from it. In 2016, while in Standing Rock, he founded a recording project called Sovereign Sounds, where he brings recording materials and knowledge to Indigenous communities in hopes of preserving songs, stories and languages and deepening creativity amongst the youth.

With such a violent history and divisive present, America needs to heal from the inside out. The music of Tone Ranger is a deep exploration of the joy, beauty, truth, and mystery of the land we stand on and a prayer that we can move forward and heal together.

Women's Temple with Karina Maria

WOMEN'S TEMPLE, a space to rejuvenate
Temple happens
the fourth Wednesday of every month

Upcoming Dates: 10/24, 11/28 (6:30-8:30 pm)

Cost: $18/ $25 day of the event

Dive with me into practices that will connect you with the vast wisdom that lives within. We will move beyond our masks and our tendencies to deplete ourselves and align with the wise and compassionate warrior within. This temple is not designed to fulfill a future goal. Instead, it will awaken you to the truth in your heart and the wisdom and wholeness already inherent within you.

Women’s Temple is a space where you are invited to be a part of an ancient sense of belonging amongst women. We gather in a circle to fill our cups, honor the wisdom of our cyclical bodies and the immense power of the feminine way.
Storytelling, movement, and mindfulness practices are woven into the sessions, contributing to a deep sense of connection to ourselves, our emotional landscape and a sense of being held and supported by something greater.

I love nothing more than creating a space for women’s embodiment, emotional release and creative expression. I’m committed to creating a safe and nourishing space for you to come home to. Please feel free to reach out with any questions woman. I look forward to seeing you at temple!

Thank you!
